Gold Coast
The issue before us today is the Gold Coast which is south of the state of Queensland on the border with the state of New South Wales. Today is the sixth largest city in Australia with nearly 600,000 inhabitants. It has a pleasant climate throughout the year although summers are a little wet and sticky.
As you can see from the photos, is the favorite holiday resort for many people, not just Australia, but Japanese and other parts of Asia. For the English is very easy to Benidorm similarities that we understand, and like there, some of the tallest buildings in the country have been built here, as you can see. Though in truth we have not ever been to Benidorm so that we can not compare.
We been to a couple of times Congress building work ... as the company pays, it is difficult to refuse. As roasted on the beach, not our ideal vacation we rented a bike and we did 30 km all along the water, including a protected park area 5 km. The beach is huge, must walk the 30 km and with good waves. It is divided into different sections, of which "Surfers Paradise" (surfers' paradise) is the most famous and the one with the skyscrapers. In fact these photos already seem a bit old because they are building many more skyscrapers and higher.
Apparently The name of Gold Coast (or Gold Coast) comes from the 40's when a large real estate speculation was that the land prices shoot up. Although the baptism of the city with that name was at 58, but the speculation and construction spree has almost stopped ... and stop!
This area, because the climate is very popular among retirees from around Australia, bought houses here and come to live most of the year. Many of these communities build them with artificial channels and so the houses have their small spring to give them the opportunity to spend part of the pension in a boat as well ... there is no question that the promoters are carried around the cake. The fact is that all channels give a very very strange from the air.
