Witty Wedding Comment

My photographs

is day of week, Thursday to be exact, I'm nervous because I've only seen my interview a couple of times while I saw him working in the Exposition Park and there just for photos through Facebook or even your blog. We stayed at a fixed time and I am certain meters of meeting place: the Plaza San Martín. Seeking a seat not betray that I have in my bag a camera, my tape recorder and other belongings. Carefully pull out my cell and give him a call, he answers and says he is close. My nerves rise as there are many people who do not know where to look, just know that just see a brown skin man with dreads, it will be RAF, this urban artist of 32 years to be interviewing. Finally, we find ourselves and we went, following his "advice" as to interview him in the street with all the noise is not possible, to a large gallery where there are many positions where tattooing. We climbed to the second floor, everything is so dark at times feel some fear but not by him but by others appearing rude or whatever. Suddenly we are in the door of one of the stands, he sits on the floor and I did not know what to do I sit in the same way, so start asking:

- Explain your work RAF, what is it? RAF

: It is art, art, speech, everything that has to do with art and painting.

- At what age did you discover your passion for drawing? RAF

: At 6 and 17 years with more discretion as it were.

- Are you an artist who learned self-taught or a research center?

RAF: Self-taught but I have some art workshops and free. The rest is on my own merit.

- What is art for you? RAF

: Every time I ask this, but I can not exactly define the word art or is the subject of the concepts I like it because I say please this is art, creation, communication ... which can be something obvious, but I like to settle with that because I believe that when its closure and conceptualize something you're limiting to think, people are saying "this is this oe", "this is black, this is green, it is brown," or is art Is this "and people are quiet and do not think.

- You think it's like living and yet? A lifestyle? RAF

: Yes, a lifestyle, a purpose also, why not?

- Do you consider yourself a bohemian artist?

RAF I do not think ah, like I said I really like the concepts but ... I can tick that, of course I have lived a life of hell, dogs too, but I am a human being, period.

- Do not like typecast? RAF

: Geez actually, if I box I do not notice and if not, I do not "many? So I let people look, observe and draw their own conclusions, but I'm an open window in any case.

- What obstacles in your life you have found about art? RAF

: Several obstacles, from the acceptance itself around me, my family, friends, because you do not is very conventional, being an artist theater is one thing, books, decorative things, even ...

- Did not you support your parents? RAF

: Say yes, but say something like: "oe and you what are you, an engineer, I design, do you?, I'm mechanical and you?, I am a painter" or is like a utopia "Many? As a dreamer, a thing that is nice to see as a postcard, but for someone to do this is almost impossible.

- Do you have freedom to make your wall or find obstacles to achieve them?

RAF: I think I have freedom, even in the same obstacles I think therein lies the excitement of what I do, of violating established rules and turn right? And give a different message to what you had, then when you transgress because there is the adrenaline, the excitement of doing things especially in the street, street art is that basically, is to transgress certain rules and translate.

"But obviously if you have any q organize and request certain permissions ...

RAF: Yes, when you can be organized, well There are things you need to organize, coordinate, and if they showed, but there are things you have to take them and play them right? With all its risks, the adrenaline is important, so I say.

- In what events do you participate? RAF

: There are events that are creeks, exhibitions of tattoos, art, classic, traditional, art galleries and live art.

- In what circles you move? RAF

: Now all that is urban art, all that is street art, independent designs, all that.

"But they also stages (...)

RAF: Sure, I've been to many workshops, but now I'm on the street because I like it, are stages in your life, suddenly one day makes you want to go Calato and if you want one day you can have a strip club. Now, the issue of street magic, I find it all a possibility, but not everything is good street, because now I do I lock a table and ask me or like me, or I have a range of things to do.

- When does art become a business for yourself? RAF

: It's cool look, it becomes a business and an art, I became a painter and I become an artist right? The artist does things and does not care if you are buying or not right?, You do it and if you save it, if you want to view it or break it because that is your own imagination and innate, or teach someone or world hanging on the internet. And you're a painter when you are a worker, when someone tells you to do something, then it becomes art or business.

"Do
done graffiti, chalk art, murals, which have a predilection why? RAF: In all, at that time almost everything, graffiti, chalk, it is actually viable all, I have no predilección.

RAF: Definitivamente sí, esos tatuajes, esos diseños you see there are commissions, but I see when I can even remember what I was thinking, "Many?

- What is RAF? RAF

: It may be hyperactive.

- you always keep moving? RAF

: Yes! You will not believe, it can seem like a joke, I'm an active, not passive haha.

- Have you ever used drugs? RAF

: Yes, for example I was involved in the wave of tattoo designs, and this good ... much coca liquor, marijuana, tried a bit of pasta, san pedro, ayahuasca yet, but you know what? I have come to a conclusion that I do not know if I understand, but the drug, what you consume, what you inject, what you eat, eat lunch, is only as a reagent, is what you have in your brain or within your capabilities that will flow "Many?, or if I aspire terokal bag perhaps my more crazy ideas and start drawing, it's like coming out crazy, but if a street child does not have much knowledge, culture and if only inspire you to steal ... what have you, then that's it. Nothing more, but I have not been in any eye drug, not recommend for anything or as an experiment, unless you have the volutand to do well may be too weak and hit you, depend on and fall into it.

- Through the years how to make evolved as an artist?

RAF: I do feel an evolution both in practice and spiritually, I am contemplating life in a way I do not know whether philosophical or pragmatic. Now I can understand things, I can understand things that others can not understand. There are dilemmas, but I try to find answers and make them viable.

- All the time you are drawing? RAF

: Yes, I'm talking lol, but not all the time, every day but it sounds like a joke, I have to draw or do something related to what I do, or do a stroke or a sketch but something I have to be doing.

- Do not have a separate business?

RAF: No, not my feeling, I am businessman at all, everything is dedicated to painting 100% everything is where it should be and so everything revolves.

- What are your future plans? RAF

: Travelling abroad, to Europe can be do some things back, but I want to be in comfort, in Ayacucho, to travel with people, and then make my life as it should be, away from the cosmopolitan world.

- Looking to be known mass? RAF

: That happens and that it does not matter, at a time if I care because the process is the human being because you want to excel.

- So when you do a mural, do you look?

RAF: I do it because it's like a mission.

- How a contribution to humanity?

RAF
: (Laughter) I like that phrase, yes, I do not think a picture that you will love your neighbor, when I paint such Christ that people can not agree, disputes, some Catholics and others do not.

- Are you Catholic?

RAF: I am baptized Catholic, but I have no idea who I am.

- Any last words?

RAF: I do not like the last words, total rogue hahaha. Let people do what they do and what you do well, even a criminal, and with the same passion you have to kill someone to do your work and they for all you have to live your day as if it were your last, is a classic of my grandmother and it works, but ... you are scrubbing, I swear. It's nice because it also fills you with energy.
